The Spice Girls Reunite for Victoria Beckham’s 50th Birthday Party in March 1997
The Spice Girls, the iconic girl group of the 1990s, reunited over the weekend to celebrate Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday. In a heartwarming video shared by David Beckham on Instagram, all five original members – Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, and Mel C – were seen dancing to their hit song “Stop.” The former soccer star captioned the post with “I mean come on,” capturing the excitement of the reunion.
Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice, shared her own video of the impromptu performance, calling it the “Best night ever!” and expressing her love for her bandmates. Mel B, or Scary Spice, hinted at possible tour dates in the future by adding the hashtag #tourdatescomingsoon to her Instagram Story.
Geri Halliwell, or Ginger Spice, also joined in the birthday celebrations by sharing throwback photos of her and Victoria, reminiscing about their audition for the movie Tank Girl over 30 years ago. The Spice Girls first formed in 1994 and quickly rose to pop stardom before going on hiatus in the early 2000s. In 2019, the group embarked on a UK reunion tour, although Victoria did not participate due to her busy schedule as a fashion designer.
Despite her absence, Victoria expressed her pride in the group and their achievements, stating that she will always be a Spice Girl in spirit. The reunion at her birthday party has sparked excitement among fans, with many hoping for more collaborations and performances from the legendary girl group in the future.
