Review: Zack Snyder’s Sequel ‘Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver’

Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver’ Review: More of the Same

Zack Snyder’s interplanetary space saga continues with the release of “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver,” and the main takeaway seems to be…wheat. Yes, you read that right. The second installment of the epic saga features a sequence where the characters harvest wheat for what feels like an eternity, making you question why farming hasn’t advanced beyond scythes in this alternate universe.

The story follows a group of farmers on the moon of Veldt who are facing extinction at the hands of the imperialistic Motherworld and their military forces, the Imperium. Led by Admiral Noble, played by Ed Skrein, the Imperium is determined to wipe out the farmers once and for all.

The farmers, led by Sofia Boutella’s character Kora, have assembled a mercenary team to fight back, including cyborg Nemesis, hunky farmer Gunnar, and former Imperium general Titus, played by Djimon Hounsou. And let’s not forget the articulate robot, voiced by Anthony Hopkins, who steals the show without even appearing on screen.

While the first film was criticized for its lack of memorable dialogue and characters, the second installment doesn’t do much to improve in those areas. However, the extended battle scenes towards the end of the film are undeniably impressive, showcasing Snyder’s visual flair and action-packed sequences.

Overall, “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver” may not be groundbreaking, but it delivers on the action and spectacle that fans of Zack Snyder have come to expect. And with rumors of R-rated director’s cuts on the horizon, it seems like this space saga is far from over.
