CBS Announces Cancellations of ‘CSI: Vegas’ and ‘So Help Me Todd’
CBS has announced its first cancellations of the spring, with the network deciding not to renew the second-year dramedy “So Help Me Todd” and the drama “CSI: Vegas.” Both shows were among the few CBS scripted series whose futures were uncertain.
“CSI: Vegas” is currently averaging around 6.4 million viewers per episode, while “So Help Me Todd” draws about 6.3 million viewers. Despite their viewership numbers, CBS has a high standard for its scripted series, with 12 of the top 15 shows since mid-February.
The network has already lined up three new dramas for the 2024-25 season, including “NCIS: Origins,” “Watson,” and a reboot of “Matlock” starring Kathy Bates. Additionally, CBS has two new comedies in the works, a “Young Sheldon” spinoff and “Poppa’s House” starring Damon Wayans Sr. and Jr.
Both “CSI: Vegas” and “So Help Me Todd” were produced by CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television. They join “Young Sheldon” and “Bob Hearts Abishola” in leaving CBS at the end of the current season. “Blue Bloods” is also in its final season, with only two other shows, “The Equalizer” and “NCIS: Hawai’i,” awaiting renewal decisions.
