Colleen Hoover’s suspenseful novel ‘Verity’ is being adapted into a movie

Hollywood Adapting Colleen Hoover’s Verity for the Big Screen

Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel “Verity” is set to make its way to the big screen, as Amazon MGM Studios is developing an adaptation of the thrilling book. The novel, which was self-published in 2018 before being acquired by Grand Central Publishing, has become a phenomenon, spending months on The New York Times bestsellers list and selling over one million copies in 2023 alone.

“Verity” follows the story of Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who accepts a job to finish the remaining novels in the book series of bestselling author Verity Crawford. However, as Lowen delves deeper into the Crawford family’s life, she uncovers dark secrets and mysteries that make her question if Verity’s writing is purely fiction.

This isn’t the first time Hoover’s work has caught Hollywood’s attention. Her 2016 book “It Ends With Us” has been adapted into a film starring Blake Lively, set to hit theaters soon. Hoover’s other book titles include “It Starts With Us,” “Regretting You,” “Layla,” and “Reminders of Him.” In 2023, she was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.

The adaptation of “Verity” will be produced by Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund of Eat the Cat, with Hillary Seitz writing the script. Antosca’s credits include the Hannibal TV series and The Act, while Seitz has written for films like Christopher Nolan’s “Insomnia” and “The Unforgivable.”

Fans of the book can look forward to seeing their favorite characters come to life on the big screen, as the adaptation of “Verity” promises to be a thrilling and suspenseful ride.
