50 Cent Launches G-Unit Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana

Rapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent, also known as Curtis Jackson, made a big announcement on Thursday as he unveiled his new G-Unit Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana. This expansion of his film and TV projects marks a significant milestone in his career.

In a statement to Billboard, 50 Cent expressed his excitement about the launch of G-Unit Studios, emphasizing his belief in the transformative power of music, film, and television. He sees Shreveport as a hub of inspiration and creativity, and is committed to fostering talent and creating opportunities in the community.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux also shared his enthusiasm for G-Unit Studios finding a home in the city, highlighting the rich culture and talent that will provide the perfect backdrop for this new endeavor. To commemorate the launch, 50 Cent was honored with his own celebratory day in Shreveport and presented with a key to the city by Mayor Arceneaux.

The in-house production facility is located in downtown Shreveport, with plans for further expansion in the city. G-Unit Film & Television Inc., founded in 2003, has a successful track record of producing high-profile TV shows, including the hit series Power on Starz.

Last year, 50 Cent ended G-Unit’s deal with Starz due to disagreements over the handling of their TV shows. The production company has since signed a non-exclusive broadcast direct deal with Fox, signaling a new chapter in their creative endeavors.

With the launch of G-Unit Studios, 50 Cent is poised to continue making waves in the entertainment industry and bringing captivating movies and entertainment to Shreveport and beyond.
