Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec Tapped to Write Disney’s Live-Action Space Mountain Adaptation
Action scribes Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec are taking on a new adventure – writing Disney’s live-action adaptation of Space Mountain. The duo, known for their work on Amazon’s Citadel and Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop, have been tapped to bring the iconic space-themed roller coaster to the big screen.
Space Mountain, a beloved attraction at Disney parks around the world, has been thrilling visitors since its debut in the 1970s. With no specific storyline or characters, the writers have a blank canvas to create an exciting and immersive world inspired by the ride.
Producer Jonathan Eirich, known for his work on Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender series, is leading the project alongside Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures. The team is keeping plot details under wraps as they develop the story.
While Appelbaum and Nemec are best known for their television work, including hit series and adaptations, they have a strong background in feature films. Their previous credits include Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol and the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies.
Fans of Space Mountain can look forward to a thrilling and imaginative take on the classic ride, as the talented duo brings their storytelling skills to the project. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting Disney adaptation.
